Welcome to the Flat

You have been buzzed in to the building from a plain glass door with no names or numbers on it. You take the lift to our floor. And we are waiting to greet you. "Hello - welcome, come in....."




You are in the entryway. At the end of the long hallway, on the left, Worsley and Manchester, our giraffes, wait to greet you.




Straight ahead is the kitchen. It's quite compact, as you can see.



Washer/dryer unit is on the left. Fridge, which is large by English standards, is on the right, with separate freezer underneath. Stove and utility drawers are across from this area. No microwave.


Below is a picture of the living room, which is behind a wall to the right of the kitchen. The black leather loveseat and matching chair and coffee table came with the apartment; we added an area rug, some throw pillows, a lamp and a painting. They helped a little.



The blinds in the glass enclosed flat are outside the windows but are controlled inside with wands. I like them slightly open but not so much that the patrons of the hotel next door can look in. Mike likes the blinds completely open.



Outside this corner flat is a glass enclosed terrace. We can open or close the louvered windows of the terrace with a switch inside the flat. However, in the event of high winds or storms, they are electronically closed by a master switch, whereabouts unknown.

















In addition to this, there is a master bedroom w/bath as well as a 2nd bedroom and hall bath. Closets are not routinely built in to homes/flats here. Rather there are armoires of a sort which are used for closets. They are generally quite small as you can see.
